In the heart of (1) European country, far from here, lay the picturesque village of Snowfield. Its streets meandered to cozy cottages, and the air carried the scent of freshly baked bread. Yet, Maple Way differed—it was (2) quiet street where (3) stranger would attract attention. There stood (4) very old willow tree, the pride and joy of the neighborhood, but its health seemed to be failing, its leaves yellow and withered.
On (5) rainy afternoon, (6) mysterious stranger appeared in Maple Way. Mrs. Crabtree, once (7) ambitious businesswoman, spotted him through her upstairs window, strolling in the street with (8) energetic dog, Nero, whose fur was as black as midnight. Seating himself beneath the willow tree, he drew (9) violin from his bag and began playing. “He must be (10) talented musician,” thought Mrs. Crabtree. The mesmerizing music prompted her to dance, and soon she and all her neighbors were dancing in the street.
Suddenly, the stranger stopped playing, his arm injured from the day before. Mrs. Crabtree rushed towards him. “Dear man,” she said, “please let us help you.” Fortunately, the village had (11) hospital. The doctor used (12) X-ray, revealing not only (13) broken bone but also faint symbols etched into the stranger’s skin— (14) ancient language no one could read.
Though unable to explain their origin, the stranger felt (15) connection to his violin, (16) ancient artifact. Mrs. Crabtree and the villagers worked tirelessly to decipher the symbols. They accommodated the stranger and Nero in (17) hotel, studying library books and browsing the internet. They discovered the violin was (18) heirloom of a famous family of sorcerers. Its player would remain for ever (1) wanderer until taken up by (20) community to let him play at least once (21) year. It had to be (22) unanimous decision.
The village, not having to think long, embraced the idea with joy. Surprisingly, as soon as they decided, the willow tree began to revive. Maple Way, once (23) quiet street, echoed with laughter and music from then on.
